Getting Started in HR

HR 201 | Applied HR

6 sections · 33 lessons

Every HR professional eventually hits the same wall: the playbook runs out. The handbook does not tell you why a strong performer disengaged, an engagement score does not tell you what is broken in a team, and no policy tells you which response fits a problem you are not yet sure you have identified correctly.

HR 201 teaches you to diagnose ambiguous people problems, design a response that fits, and make it hold.

What you'll learn Tell a symptom from the real problem Gather and read evidence without jumping to conclusions See what is shaping employee experience, beyond a single score Diagnose capability and talent gaps Coach managers through performance and conflict instead of stepping in for them Size a response to the problem rather than reaching for a standard fix Lead change people adopt, rather than comply with for a week How it works Frameworks you can use on Monday, built around realistic scenarios and exercises that take you from "what happened here?" to "what is going on, what should I do, and how will I know it worked?"

This is not a course about memorising more HR concepts. It is about thinking through the situations that do not come with a clear answer, which is most of the job once you are past the basics.

Who it's for Early in your career and ready to move past executing process Already handling ambiguous situations and wanting a sharper way through them Moving from an operations role towards a consultative one HR 101 | Fundamentals is useful background and is not required.

By the end you should not just know more about HR problems.

You should be better at solving them.
